First time I've watched this film in 20 years or so and I can't believe the hate for it. It's easily the best of Kevin Smith's films but more than that, it's a great film. This is far from a male fantasy about lesbianism. To be that, it would surely show the male protagonist in a good light. However, Affleck's Holden is the same now as he was when I watched this in the 90s...a complete idiot and a big baby. He whinges and whines all through the film like the entitled brat he clearly is. Messes up a good relationship. Then after he gets a heartfelt story from Silent Bob....he completely misses the point! If anything, this is a parable about not being a massive, entitled, self-centred dick. Also, I miss the 90s. You can almost smell it in this movie. I loved it back then, before they took all the healthy stuff out of cigarettes and replaced them with cancer. Bastards ps. Hooper should've had waaaay more screen time. His opening scene is wonderful
