2026-03-13This is a film that should be watched on a big screen and not on a platform where the CEO wants you watching films on your phone while you do the cleaning. However, even on the biggest screen in the world it would still be crap. Parts of it look beautiful (lots of it looks like you're watching cut scenes from a video game though, especially the Ship stuff at the beginning) but it's so so so boring. It's already the longest film in the entire world and then a title card flashes up saying "Part 2. The Monster's Story" and we get to watch what James Whale and Karloff did in about 15 minutes, stretched to what feels like 6 days. And this is nominated for Oscars?! Yikes
