2023-12-18Fred Astaire was an incredible dancer. Can't take my eyes off him when he's moving. People seem to be marking this film harshly because of the blackface scene. While obviously unacceptable nowadays, this was 1942, people! Segragation in America was still 20 years away from being abolished. If it's an uncomplicated watch you're after, I suggest picking anything at random of Disney+. Alternatively, you can put your big boy pants on and grow the hell up. If you're that offended by a film from 80 years ago, you're going to hate real life in the 2020s.
