Bring your film diary with you

Import your watch history, ratings, reviews, watchlist, and lists from Letterboxd, Trakt, or IMDb in minutes.

Import from Letterboxd

1

Export your data from Letterboxd

Go to Letterboxd Settings → Data → Export. Download the ZIP file. This contains your diary, ratings, reviews, watchlist, and lists in CSV format.

2

Upload to KinoChain

In Settings → Import, select the Letterboxd option and upload your ZIP file. KinoChain reads the CSVs and matches films against the TMDB database.

3

Review and confirm

Review the matched films before importing. Any unmatched titles can be manually linked or skipped. You control exactly what comes in.

4

Everything in one place

Your diary entries, ratings, reviews, tags, watchlist, and custom lists all populate automatically. Start using KinoChain immediately.

Import from Trakt

1

Export from Trakt

Trakt provides CSV and JSON exports from your account settings. Download your watch history.

2

Upload and match

Upload your Trakt export to KinoChain. Films are auto-matched via TMDB IDs where available.

3

Review matches

Confirm or adjust matches before finalising the import.

Import from IMDb

1

Export your IMDb ratings

IMDb allows CSV export of your ratings from your account's Ratings page.

2

Upload to KinoChain

Upload your IMDb ratings CSV. KinoChain matches via IMDb ID → TMDB ID cross-reference.

About the export/re-import loop

Your data is yours. KinoChain supports full data export at any time — diary, ratings, reviews, lists, and chains. If you ever want to leave, you take everything with you.

And because KinoChain supports importing from multiple sources, you can maintain a presence on Letterboxd and KinoChain simultaneously — import to sync, export to keep a backup. No lock-in.
