On paper, this looks great. Great cast, knockabout comedy, fun times! It's not though. Dylan Moran is great. Michael Caine isn't.

It's fun. It's nonsense. Hoorah for low budget 90s creature features!

Not sure how it's taken me so long to watch this film but wow! Melanie Lynskey is incredible. Peter Jackson really stopped being interesting once those Hobbits left the Shire.

John Dahl's best film. Why doesn't this man make more films?! Miramax in the 90s were amazing...at film making. Terrible at other stuff, obviously.

Unexpectedly good! Although it took until half way through before I realised it was set in Wales and they were attempting Welsh accents! Fun to be rooting for the murderer! Actually, this is usually the case. Hayley Mills is great too. Film map #4

I was enjoying it until the last 40 minutes. Although I was annoyed by the terrible pastiche Kubrick scenes. Trying to think of something nice I want to say about it but struggling. Maybe this was actually terrible. Yes. I think this is bad. I've removed half a star in the time it took to write this. The world shrugged. Also, worst fitness routine ever. No one is getting ripped doing that! Edit: it can have a half star back for Demi Moore. She was great

Can you even imagine trying to sell this film today?! "It's about 4 kids walking to find a dead body and....then walking back again".

Sadfleck jr. Everyone is great and there's almost a good film here trying to fight its way out but it doesn't quite make it. Has anyone spoken to Kenneth recently to check he's ok? Film map #3

Foster is briliant but Hopkins is another level. He made so many incredible choices in this. His stillness gives you chills!

Wasn't expecting much. Standard wartime melodrama. Then Vivien Leigh turns to prostitution and the whole thing falls apart. The smile she gives when she's first picked up...shivers! Why isn't this better known?! Film map #2

Pretty good. Like a shorter, less-good Talented Mr Ripley. Which I suppose it would.

Second favourite Hitchcock. Cary Grant is great as always and the fx stuff still looks good (especially the plane crash). 2 hours of fun but pure fluff. Oh, and the ending is crap. Film 1 of the film map!

First watch since it was released in cinemas. Love Jeunet but this is dogshit.

Laughed and cried in equal measure. So much fun and I got more emotional than I imagined I would (although I was blubbing at one of the trailers, so maybe I didn't!) My daughter's both said it was a 5 star film. It loses half a star for being unnecessarily over 2 hours. But that is a very minor criticism. More of this please!!

I love golden age magic, Chung Ling Soo, Woody Allen and 20s/30s jazz so what's not to love? Plus it all looks beautiful!

Very silly and not terribly good. The best is still number 3!

It was....fine. But my favourite in this genre is still God Bless America.

Not seen this since August/September 1998 with friends, the night before leaving for University. If anyone needs a snapshot of how exciting Britain felt in the late 90s, with New Labour, Britpop etc, it's this film. And my word, I miss cigarettes in the 90s. They were the good ones. The ones that didn't give you cancer. Stupid 00s.
