A few points of order: 1. Aliens is not a good film 2. There are only two sequels that have improved on the original: Paddington 2 and Sister Act 2 3. This film is total dog shit.

Better than the first but that's faint praise. Dumb, horny, young people getting sliced and diced is the kind of entertainment we need in these trying times.

First watch. Bit young in the 80s, then it got tarnished with the whole "video nasty" thing. annnnnnd oh man, did Hollywood do a LOT of cocaine in the 80s

It's still one of the best slasher films nearly 30 years on. Love that, true to form, it spawned 6 sequels of differing (shit) quality. Matthew Lillard is brilliant.

Fun! Few good jump scares and lots of screaming "just turn on the lights" at the screen. What more do you want from horror films?!

Pre-code Hollywood was the best. Someone is skinned alive in this...and they say films are too gory today! Legosi and Karloff are great. A crap load of dynamite that's ignited by pulling a big ol lever in your cellar is a terrible idea though.

First watch for me since 1991 or thereabouts when I watched this at a sleepover, aged 11. My first full 18 certificate (I managed about 15 minutes of Nightmare on Elm Street 3 a couple of years before). Practical effects, proper sets, Arnie....what more could you ask for? Oh, and PKD was shit at coming up with titles for his stories. Needed Hollywood to show him how to do it with two words.

Robert Redford could be in anything and make it enjoyable. Thankfully, this is loads of fun anyway. Poitier is funny and Dan Aykroyd looks like he's having loads of fun. I wish every film had a section where Aykroyd says loads of complicated nonsense and makes it sound believable.

We need more films where we root for companies to destroy Apple. Glenn Howerton is brilliant.

I have no desire to read a Grisham but they can't half film the crap out of them!

A few dodgy accents (and not just the Americans) but it looks incredible and Coltrane and Holmes are great.
