It's fine. Script needed a few more passes at it but Statham kicking bottoms is always enjoyable. Linked to Pride by Paddy Considine #cinechain

A brilliant film. Really funny and moving in equal measure. I was in bits by the end. Frankly, Dominic West's dance scene alone is enough for a 5 star review. But also Screw Thatcher. Screw the 80s. Screw Section 28 and all that bullshit. And screw anyone who is nostalgic for the 80s. The 80s were shit. The only good things about them was the little pockets of resistance that bubbled up in different places. If you lived through the 80s and thought they were amazing, you were probably a dick.

Funny, mid-00s style comedy. And ice cube was great. From looking at the reviews on here, I reckon reviewers can be split into two camps. 1. People who can enjoy and appreciate a daft comedy film because they rarely make them like this anymore 2. People who are dead inside

What a beautiful film and wonderful ending! Glad I saved this one for the last 27 years. Not sure 19 year old me would've "got it". At 45, the idea of making a long, slow, quiet journey through picturesque landscapes during the day and sitting round a campfire at night smoking cigars is pretty much life goals.

It dragged at the start for me. An hour of not much. But then they hit that big performance scene, which was incredible and after that it went bat shit crazy, which is always fun. Amazing music and Buddy Guy at the end was an added bonus. Edit. It's the next day and I think 4 stars was possibly too much. Second edit: 3 stars It was far too long. Shave off a lot of the boring first hour and it would've been much more enjoyable. The music was great though and that big scene really was amazing.

Men being horrible, misogynistic, self-serving dicks is nothing new. The only real difference between now and at any other time in history, is they have the ability to reach a larger audience with their hateful nonsense. Fascinating documentary, although I'd have liked to hear more from the women who allow themselves to be subjected to online ridicule.

I'd normally say something about the USA being the true evil in this world but actually, maybe politics is the real problem? Nah, just kidding. Some politicians do good

Disney are awful but this was fun. Better than I was expecting. Too long though. No reason for a Disney animation to be longer than 90 mins

Not a single good man in this whole film. Which is correct. Men are the worst. Tense and scary without any of the standard gratuitous stuff. Potentially the first Netflix "original" I've really enjoyed.

This is a film that should be watched on a big screen and not on a platform where the CEO wants you watching films on your phone while you do the cleaning. However, even on the biggest screen in the world it would still be crap. Parts of it look beautiful (lots of it looks like you're watching cut scenes from a video game though, especially the Ship stuff at the beginning) but it's so so so boring. It's already the longest film in the entire world and then a title card flashes up saying "Part 2. The Monster's Story" and we get to watch what James Whale and Karloff did in about 15 minutes, stretched to what feels like 6 days. And this is nominated for Oscars?! Yikes

Enjoyed this more in 99, but still a fun ride and Clooney and Ice Cube are great. And, of course, it's worth remembering that the US are the "baddies" and always have been and from the looks of it, always will be. They must be stopped at all costs.

Fun Ealing nonsense. Beautifully shot Nd I'm a sucker for post war British location shoots on film. Also, capitalism is our one true enemy and must be fought against at all cost.

Only Terry Gilliam could take a budget of £10 and make it look like a 10 million. Plus a who's who of 60s and 70s comedy talent!

Total madness. It’s lopsided and fizzles out, but it’s far more interesting than the polished dross we get now. A massive studio budget used to make a deliberate B-movie is a move you just wouldn't see today. It’s a big, weird swing that doesn't quite land, but it's all the better for it. They don’t make 'em like this anymore. Ack! Ack!

My favourite HST book made into a so-so film. Beautiful locations but I don't think it quite gets across just HOW much rum was drunk...and how many grapefruits were eaten

I don't know why I was expecting it to be any different. It was hard enough rooting for horrible people in the original but I was definitely rooting for Ol' Fishy McHookHand in this one.
